today's pd is at our sch NPCC COOKING COMPETITION

me, jiawei, jiahui, yingxuan, cherie, benjamin, xuili and grace went for the pd=D

it officially started at 9.00am but i reach sch at 7.35am, whoa waited for 1 hr 25min..):

ms nah came and like talk to us for a while, i passed her the bnco form=P and money
then i dunno where she went to after tt

there are altogether 7 or 14 teams participating from other schools and our school

brought 2 first aid pouch out(:

yay!! we do pd somemore still got thing to eat lor; sweets given by mr derrik lee and spring rolls by npcc ppl(:

so good=D haha

bnco sure die derr): haixz but hand up form already must go...

looks like nobody is going for anco): somebody go lehx!!!=D

pd ended about 11.30am to 12.00pm(: hooray!! earlier than mentioned=P

hi today there is debate training too, as u guessed(:

topic was THIS HOUSE WOULD BAN EUTHANESIA
-'mercy' killing
-painless quick dying through injection
-patient is terminally ill

1. better to die than to suffer
2. live longer
3. wait for possible cure
4. doctor's role--prevent suffering OR to save lives ( you all decide)

there is a debate going on to show a real debate: of euthanesia too(:

ms wong came to the classroom b4 the debate started, which kinda shocked me..haha=D
well, but she went away slightly b4 the debate had ended, about 11am. l0l!!

so our grp chose to BAN EUTHANESIA

some of the points:

-if euthanesia is allowed, doctors are encourage not ot give the best medical care and attention to the patient

-when there is an extremely painful disease, it would result ion euthanesia, patient waould want to end their lives

-patient is afraid of of financial burden, medical care is expensive, so it would lead to euthanesia, not caring of their own lives

-patient may not able to afford euthanesia

-there would be potential abuse of euthanesia

-take euthanesia against their own will

-if euthanesia is legalised, government would then not pay attention to it

medical care withdrawn without consent

-euthanesia could be banned in stages, so the government can handle it better

-patients could be pressurized to to convinced them to take euthanesia

-alternative for taking euthanesia: painkillers to help them cope with their illness((:

although we did not voice out all the points...after all debate is scary
and we have another round tmr...goodluck to all for the coming 3 trainings=D

i hav just been through the councillor training, which the EXCO called it the camp...

the first 2 days is something like lecture in the library, but we played some games with the High Achievers too!! its about self-esteem, leadership and overcoming challenges in being a leader.

there were videos, story'telling, games which were quite interesting and fun. i hav made lots of friends during the training course.

the last day of training is in sentosa. the first part of the morning is conducted by the high achievers--Chief Ken and Chief ?? (oops so sorry for forgetting ur name..)

mrs lim, ms amy chan, mr derrik lee and mrs chow went to sentosa with us too!! and we got mrs lim's hp number too!! the sec twos and threes boarded into one bus and the sec ones into another. some of the EXCOs boarded in the same bus as sec ones and benjamin, jeremy sat behind the empty seat behind us, felicia and melody sat on the seats opposite us , and rachel and hazel sat in front of us in the bus.

then the sky began to get dark and the EXCOs were like praying that it will not rain.benji were like 'if it rains in the morning, it would not rain in the afternoon.'

ok, to cut the story short, we reached sentosa and each received a pass--a card to sentosa.

it was drizzling and the high achievers brought us to the shelters to play games

-captains on the deck
-captains ball
-and endurance game-hav to sit on each others legs and the longer teams win
w the ping pong ball, soccer ball, volley ball and lastly the chicken

the ping pong ball costs 50 pnts, soccer ball-10 pnts, v ball-5nts and the chicken 100pnts
in the end the chicken is torn into many parts and my grp scored 700points just for the chicken!!
well, when the game is over, everyone was like scared of chicken and would not want to hav chicken for lunch..

after lunch, we go to buy slippers for michelle, b'cause we hav to do something for the exco to thank them, btw, i'm from grpB, team4.

we hav to meet the excos at tanjong beach by 1.15pm, we're like the first grp to reach there.
the excos hav planned a amazing race for us.

the first station is for all the 8teams to dig out the clues from the sand and we're the 3rd team to dig it out. we got the picture of esther, double and a building...besides, we also got a japanese map of sentosa, which i think it is given to us by accident tt it is in japanese..

the second station is over the sea. our team crossed the bridge and had to find jeremy for the clues. i think the clues were 'begins ..?.. ' (oops forgot the second word..)

the third station is near the beach on the sand area. we have to communicate without sound about how many hands and feet on the ground and solve it.

the fourth station is the underwaterworld. we had to go there to take photographs.

the fifth station is the merlion area. but we haven't got the chance to go there...we are already late!!!):

the last station is the meeting area near the bus-station...we and group 6 are the last group to reach...and the bus is waiting for us already.

sec1s got into the bus first, the sec2 and 3s had to wait , for dunno what reason...haha
when we reached school, we had to wait for the excos and the teachers to release us home.
our group gave michelle the slippers and said a cheer before going home!! what an exciting day the excos planned for us, although it is very hot and dehydrated...

oh ya! forgot to mention, my team consisted of sharavana, yani, stella, me, jancy, manju, bhana, eugene, bendexter and michelle!!

i hope that the rest of the councillors had enjoyed the sentosa 'camp'!!(:
