i'm the kind tt made a blog and lazy to update...ZZZzzz...

okay, now's the time for the update(:

i've attended a 3 day course from 26-28 dec 2007 to convert us to ncdcc cadets...ya, there were other schools

we learnt about various types of fire extinguishers--CO2, dry powder and water...

we also learnt how to deploy hose reels and wad to do during a fire(:

we 'revised' our drills, it's quite different from st.john, the timings and such, but the command is the same=D!!

nxt, we have practical and theory test on first aid skill (bandages)~eye bandage, amputation, head bandage, skull fracture, jaw fracture, arm fracture, shoulder dislocation, leg fracture, thigh fracture, dutch and russian tournique, and so on and on .... =X

okay, and the last day is the most stressful one): the whole day, we've tests--both theory and practical, on fire-fighting, first aid, drills and civil defence bronze (tt, we've to do a presentation)... ok done(:

i noe tt my update is quite brief, but it's better than nothing right?? haha....

on the eighth day, we went to another outlet and walked around, then we went shopping and visited some of the souvenier shops in LV...

on the ninth day, we depart from las vegas to san diego...it's about one day journey by car=D

on the tenth day, it's raining, so we decided not to go to seaworld but change to exhibit Midway warship, 'audio tour'...

on the tenth day, we went back to los angeles. we decided to go to universal studio.
some of the events in the studio: fear factor live, terminator 2 (show), shrek 4D (show), revenge of the mummy(the ride), jurassic park(the ride), studio tour...

on the eleventh day, we went to venice beach and manhattan beach(: it's our last day in usa=D... i can't wait to be back to singapore!!

i think its time i talked about my hols(: it is sort of once in the lifetime opportunity,so it's not tt i'm rich=D i dun think i will hav tt kind of opportunity again): ...

well, i went to USA. [thanks jane for keeping the secret for me](:

the first day, i reached at 7.30am at los angeles airport. it was very cold there 'brr...' hmm...i think its about 13degress, plus minus.

• went to chinatown): there is nth interesting there...
• then to walk of fame--which just to take pictures...
• to the observatory, halfway we gave up, it was too crowdedwith cars and its a long way up the mountain.
• then went to a shopping centre-Walmart.

i think i have jet lag...when it's morning in LA,it's night in s'pore):
for food, it's mostly western so i dunnit to elaborate about it for the nxt few days=P
and very expensive -- 1 meal for one person is about US.14 dollars and their portions quite big..

on the second day, we drove to camarillo, the nearest outlet mall. there were individual outlets like
-nike
-reebok
-coach
-timberland
-gap
-fossil
-vitamin world
and so on...

on the third day, we went to disneyland. yup! there were many disney characters there and there was a parade. the rides there are not as nice, but again it is very limited in disneyland.

on the fourth day, my dad drove us from los angeles to las vegas--i'm sure he's very tired, while we all slept in the car.

on the fifth day, 5.45am, we waited for the tour bus to take us to grand canyon. we took a 1day tour.
the journey was 2hrs b4 we steppeed into the sunshine again(: the tourguide let us out into the
hoover dam to take pictures for 10 minutes. then we were on our way again, this time to national geographic park visitor centre for our lunch. next time we leave, it's for the grand canyon, south rim and arrive at 3pm. it was very cold up there (-?degrees) but the scenery there was awesome!!(:
by the time we are back at the hotel it's already 11pm at night...

on the sixth day, we went round LV and went to premium outlet, it is like the camarillo outlet but on a smaller scale(:

on the seventh day, my dad once again drive a long distance, this time to san diego. we walked around and go shopping.

yesterday was a tiring day, j8 midnight shopping day.it was the 1st time i 've been to such event=D.

by 6pm, queues for $20 portable dvd player, $1lucky dip, information counter-lucky draws, bird nest, $1 goodie bags...were very long and imagine..i waited 2hrs standing for the $20 dvd player with my mum.
we were the 8th person waiting and buying the player.
As the queues get longer, the more heated arguments were as it was limited to 1st 50 customers.
One person had cut the queue and the others were like arguing tt they hav been queuing for 2hrs and it was unfair for the people behind to wait so long but in the end nv got the chance to buy the dvd player. so in conclusion, that person backed out(:

then after collecting and buying the player, we went to queue again for the lucky draws and the lucky dip, followed by the $1 goodie bag. the queues were so long and the crowds were so thick.
ate at kfc and waited for a while to midnight~the midnight lucky draws.

it was my first time to be out so late in singapore...12.30am reached home=P LOL break record!!

i can't attend the dry run because of ncdcc course): i hate to miss out alot but it can't be help)): haixz...it's too bad the 2 events crashed on the same day...):
haha...cheer up=D

days has been quite boring at home, with no sch--eat, sleep, play..=D

anyway, i think i'm expected to be in school, nxt week and i'm not complaining, it's gd to be back to school--without studing
it is for the council, and meeting our friends again although we see each other now and then(:

ncdcc uniform is quite nice=D looks like bb's uniform, and other UG grps - all blue!
the sch uniform group looks united this way too, haha...

haixz...now sj want to convert to ncdcc, which is national civil defense cadet corp):

it is like no one wants to convert but our teacher in charge wants, she said in summary like tt it's time to change since we did so much for st.john, but to no avail, the HQ does nothing in return...so now is changin to ncdcc):

so yesterday, the sec1s and 2s went to ncdcc hq to collect the uniforms, it is in the same place as npcc HQ...haha

i still prefer st.john if you ask me choose...the uniform and all=D

so now is half sj and half ncdcc..untill next year march or april, then after competition, no more st.john): haixz...i'm so sad and reluctant to leave(:

okay, i just bought the textbook for nxt year already, but still can't do finish hw, the global tales book is not up yet=P

ZZzzzz...nxt year must realli buck up): it will be more difficult and more challenging by each year =P

then i dunno where she went to after tt

there are altogether 7 or 14 teams participating from other schools and our school

there is a debate going on to show a real debate: of euthanesia too(:

ms wong came to the classroom b4 the debate started, which kinda shocked me..haha=D
well, but she went away slightly b4 the debate had ended, about 11am. l0l!!

so our grp chose to BAN EUTHANESIA

some of the points:

-if euthanesia is allowed, doctors are encourage not ot give the best medical care and attention to the patient

-when there is an extremely painful disease, it would result ion euthanesia, patient waould want to end their lives

-patient is afraid of of financial burden, medical care is expensive, so it would lead to euthanesia, not caring of their own lives

-patient may not able to afford euthanesia

-there would be potential abuse of euthanesia

-take euthanesia against their own will

-if euthanesia is legalised, government would then not pay attention to it

medical care withdrawn without consent

-euthanesia could be banned in stages, so the government can handle it better

-patients could be pressurized to to convinced them to take euthanesia

-alternative for taking euthanesia: painkillers to help them cope with their illness((:

i hav just been through the councillor training, which the EXCO called it the camp...

the first 2 days is something like lecture in the library, but we played some games with the High Achievers too!! its about self-esteem, leadership and overcoming challenges in being a leader.

there were videos, story'telling, games which were quite interesting and fun. i hav made lots of friends during the training course.

the last day of training is in sentosa. the first part of the morning is conducted by the high achievers--Chief Ken and Chief ?? (oops so sorry for forgetting ur name..)

mrs lim, ms amy chan, mr derrik lee and mrs chow went to sentosa with us too!! and we got mrs lim's hp number too!! the sec twos and threes boarded into one bus and the sec ones into another. some of the EXCOs boarded in the same bus as sec ones and benjamin, jeremy sat behind the empty seat behind us, felicia and melody sat on the seats opposite us , and rachel and hazel sat in front of us in the bus.

then the sky began to get dark and the EXCOs were like praying that it will not rain.benji were like 'if it rains in the morning, it would not rain in the afternoon.'

ok, to cut the story short, we reached sentosa and each received a pass--a card to sentosa.

it was drizzling and the high achievers brought us to the shelters to play games

-captains on the deck
-captains ball
-and endurance game-hav to sit on each others legs and the longer teams win
w the ping pong ball, soccer ball, volley ball and lastly the chicken

the ping pong ball costs 50 pnts, soccer ball-10 pnts, v ball-5nts and the chicken 100pnts
in the end the chicken is torn into many parts and my grp scored 700points just for the chicken!!
well, when the game is over, everyone was like scared of chicken and would not want to hav chicken for lunch..

after lunch, we go to buy slippers for michelle, b'cause we hav to do something for the exco to thank them, btw, i'm from grpB, team4.

we hav to meet the excos at tanjong beach by 1.15pm, we're like the first grp to reach there.
the excos hav planned a amazing race for us.

the first station is for all the 8teams to dig out the clues from the sand and we're the 3rd team to dig it out. we got the picture of esther, double and a building...besides, we also got a japanese map of sentosa, which i think it is given to us by accident tt it is in japanese..

the second station is over the sea. our team crossed the bridge and had to find jeremy for the clues. i think the clues were 'begins ..?.. ' (oops forgot the second word..)

the third station is near the beach on the sand area. we have to communicate without sound about how many hands and feet on the ground and solve it.

the fourth station is the underwaterworld. we had to go there to take photographs.

the fifth station is the merlion area. but we haven't got the chance to go there...we are already late!!!):

the last station is the meeting area near the bus-station...we and group 6 are the last group to reach...and the bus is waiting for us already.

sec1s got into the bus first, the sec2 and 3s had to wait , for dunno what reason...haha
when we reached school, we had to wait for the excos and the teachers to release us home.
our group gave michelle the slippers and said a cheer before going home!! what an exciting day the excos planned for us, although it is very hot and dehydrated...
